I have a mix system, so I'm stuck at 64. Because of the way I track my VI's from slave PC's (they come in as RTAS inputs via rewire), I end up being limited to tracking only 32 at a time. This is doable, but limiting since I would prefer to have discrete control of each instrument in the orchestra. For now I submix the instruments by section in Bidule. When I upgrade, I'll be using all the tracks that I can.

I worked on a 16 voice PTIII system for quite some time... Don't think I'd want to go back to it now but it got the job done fine. I actually really found it easy to work with because of how I was forced to work efficiently. But now I am hopelessly addicted to power.... more... more.... more.... :D

The Beatles did most of they're albums on a 4-track (including sgt.peppers) Queen's Boheminan Rhapsody is on 24 tracks. Superstition is on 12 tracks ( if I remember correctly) and so on.. ;)

RaySoul, you hit the nail on the head when you said people don't know how good they have it now. Not very long ago it would have cost you several thousands of dollars (if not hundreds of thousands...) to do what you can do with a humble Mbox. Heck, there was a day when engineers would have killed just to get a preamp as good as the one in it....
